Sept 4, 07 Happy Birthday to Blue, Happy Birthday to Blue, Happy Birthday dear Blue, Happy Birthday to you. We don't actually know his real birthday but we agreed to celebrate his day as Sept. 4 annually.

Hey to all my 4-legged friends. Wet and cloudy day here with occasional patches of blue sky.  Little fog on the field in the early mornings. John says' I'm not co-operating lately for new pictures. As a 7-yr old Lhasa I figure I've earned the right to choose which days I'll pose and which days I won't.  I understand John is making special dog treats for me this week which I get this coming weekend. Small party with Payton, McKay and I, their pets etc.  I overheard John muttering something about water, strawberry yogurt, mashed banana and cookie molds. Oh yeah and something about looking for a cookie mold in the shape of a dog bone.  No idea what this is all about but as there is food involved I'm all ears. Also, later in the day John was speaking with the downtown doggie bakery about cake. Any of you mutts know what 'cake' is?

P.S.: And I'm going for another grooming (dam it) this Thursday so I look my best on the weekend.

July 9, 07 Yesterday I received a wonderful "dog mail" from a new Lhasa friend Kira (nee: Matea) also a former Furbaby Rescue dog. I'm the second one from the bottom on this page or you are invited to visit Kira on her Blog here. My pet John has once again collecting pictures of me. They are of poor quality (John blames the camera! Uh-huh oh sure it is) which he hopes to rectify later this year. Pssst! I was brushed before these were taken (probably so I make a good impression). And he also wanted to show another picture of the area we live in. We find ourselves wondering if maybe we should install a bulletin board so all of us could chat on line.  If you have thoughts on this, either way, please send me some [Fan Mail] which you know I just love to receive. My pet also wanted to point out a piece of software he uses to check other sites and advise us when they've been updated ... called URLy Warning. Kira, dear, your page has been added so that we will auto check your site daily :)   I must say you are a lovely looking we thing ... do you ever get over to the island?  If so perhaps we could meet and share a piece of Chicken Jerky ... also my favourite treat!

Gosh another 2-months since John last updated this site. Clearly I'll have to discuss this with him <growl>.

The clear sharp images on this site are shot with a Logitech USB Orbit PTZ cam and the lousy ones with a Mercury (Canon brand name in the UK) Cyberpix S-450V. Think this one will go in the garbage shortly and be placed.

June 9, 07 - What can I say except I'm so darn cute and photogenic that my pet John (he's the fat bald one - I'm the one with the lovely fur coat) can not resist snapping my picture.  Over and over and over again <smile>.

Here's one of Mistress E. waving to all of you.  Hope your weather has been better than ours. Today it has been blowing and raining most of the day. We were toasty warm though because I had the good sense to get up at or about 7 AM so we cold get our walk in while the rain was light and the temperature mild. Pet John commented that during our walk it was a soft spring rain. The corn across the street is just peeking up. Won't be long now until we awake early each morning to the noise of tractors and the pickers chattering to each other.

June 5, 07 - On June 3rd, last Sunday, a friend came in and installed the brand new 12,000 BTU window mount A/C unit I just purchased to keep Blue, me and the computer equipment comfortable during our summer season. In previous summers the temperature in this room has exceeded 90 ° F.

John apologizes for the lousy picture quality.

May 27, 07 - We have been so busy these last few months it has been impossible to get here and post new content. Having captured this great new picture of Blue and I today it just had to be shared with his fans 4 legged and bipod. We are so busy just now that it may well be fall before we can get back here on a regular basis.

Blue of course will do his best to answer any and all [Fan Mail] that comes his way.

We do have one more piece of exciting news. Well it's exciting to us :). On June 1st a brand new Kenmore Vertical 12,000 BTU air conditioner with remote sensor will arrive to be installed in our room. This is because last summer it was often was over 90 F in here. All I wanted to do was find some bare floor to lie down on and of course John had to keep working. Mostly at night - a good thing since he didn't have much clothing on.

Also, we have a new family member. Well not directly in this house but in John and Mistress E's sister home. They've adopted a white Scottish Terrier. Soon as we can we'll try to post pictures of McKai or perhaps all of us together. Could be a bit of a trick as Payton really does not like having his photo taken. Bark, bark, bark to all my friends and I'll post more just as soon as we can.

Apr 2, 2007 -  John posting today. My relationship with Blue today I can only describe with these words:

  • As I give love to Blue he gives more back.

  • He sleeps on my bed and doth warmeth me.

  • I am Blue's best friend and he gives so much to me that I can never repay.

  • As I take Blue with me on outings he continues to give me more. I can't describe the look, nor the position he gets into in the car. All I can say is Blue can bring me to tears with the love and devotion he exudes.

  • Blue is loyal as loyal can be as I am imperfectly loyal to him.

Mar 26, 2007 -  Once again a couple of really busy weeks have gone by. Mid-last week Payton and I both went to the groomers and came back looking handsome as you can see in my picture below. And this time Master John consented to me posting his picture as well.

Mar 2, 2007 -  Been a couple of weeks since we updated this and I finally cornered pet John to rectify this forthwith. On Feb 28th the trainer, Janet Parker, came to see me. She was great folks and oh so much fun. I have no idea what training she got because all we did was play fun games. And every time I got the game correct I got a wee small piece of cheese. The lady sure new how to get my attention! What a dummy John is if he thought training was going to happen!

John to the fans / plugging Blue's ears - yes but those games are training.

Last night John and I played those games again. What fun and this time John gave me wee bits of turkey jerky. Just thinking about this stuff makes my mouth water - gimmee, gimmee, gimmee I want some jerky right now John!

Blue may be in for a surprise or two this AM as I am shortly going out with Payton, to a vet appointment, and leaving Blue home with Mistress E. Wonder if Blue will talk to me when we get back? What do you fans think?

Feb 26, 2007 -  Bow-Wow-Wow-Woof! Second week on with the Poop-Patrol folk cleaning our yard and I'm hear to share with you we feel like royalty.  My pet John tells me that this will be an interesting week for both of us. Apparently a trainer is coming here on Wednesday (Feb 28) to teach John how to get me to obey basic commands - this should be fun. I like having my own way and these humans think I'm going to obey them ... well lets just say they are not going to win this one.

I also here John talking on the phone about desensitization. I've no idea what this means and hope one of you do and that you'll tell me.  Please email your thoughts here  [Fan Mail] so that I can understand this and maybe plan my defense. Isn't so like a human ... they say they love us as we are but after a period of time with us they want us to change.  Guess we'll see but I wonder who is going to learn what!

Feb 16, 2007 -  Friends, Romans and all my 4-legged friends where ever you may be. Draw (come) nigh (near) and give me thy (your) ear (LISTEN).

Beautiful sunny spring day here and I'm healthy, off the meds - nice firm, well shaped, dry poop from me now and John's so happy. Who'd have thunked (thought) that our human pets could be so interested in our poop that they'd visually examine it every time we go. They're all nutz but we love 'em anyway or perhaps its in spite of :)  My pet John is so interested in Payton and my's poop that beginning today the Poop-Patrol are going to clean our yard every week. I ask you how many of your pets do this for you!?!

Of course they may have an ulterior motive or two, for example:  us not tracking poop into the house either between our toes or glommed (stuck) to our feathers, one of us taking to pooping on the deck perhaps because he is not very good at navigating through our poop field or just too lazy to do so (lazy I bet). Of course our poop can carry several nasty bugs, infections, parasites and the like so isn't it nice that our pets will get this cleaned every week. Of course most times I do what a dog needs to do out on my walk ... except when it's monsoon weather here. Hokey Dogs there are days here when even the birds walk - I'm serious. No self-respecting dog or bird would be caught alive or dead out on days like that!

Until we chat again, chew a bone together, chase a cat then or you can send me [Fan Mail] anytime which I'll read and answer.

Be Safe!  Woof, Woof WOOOF. (roughly translates to Blue loves you)

Feb 7, 2007 -  Soggy day here! And this morning John called the vet quite early as he suspected I have not been feeling quite myself the last few days. He's right my tummy has been upset on and off.  My regular vet just had an emergency come in so he couldn't see and he asked me to go visit Garry Oak Veterinarian Hospital up in Sidney. John took at noon today. They gave me a through examination, asked John tons of questions, looked over my file which my vet had faxed to them. Then they came to the conclusion that just like last August I have gastroenteritis. They gave me a shot and two different meds for me to take over the next several days. John and I are happy that we've taken this step and that I will now be on the mend.

Psssst now would be an excellent time for encouraging [Fan Mail] !

Feb 6, 2007 -  Hey my friends! Been grey misty mornings here this week. John and I go for a decently long walk mid-afternoon most days. And I'm told come the good weather we'll try to go twice daily once in the early AM and once in the cool of the evening.

Even though this is my site I'm writing today to update you on Payton's progress. All of us feel that Payton has finally realized he lives here and that this isn't a temporary home. He seems to be coming out of himself. He's bolder in the house and will tell me (Blue} right off if he feels the situation warrants it.  While Payton still sleeps a good part of the day and likely always will he will he also plays with his toys most days either with or without human participation. We all find him highly entertaining at these times. Also in the area of where to find the sand box he's much better - he will now come to John and request to go out. He's still not comfortable with the backyard and much prefers to do all his business on our back deck. John's been trying to get a decent picture of Payton but they'll all been too blurry to post so far.

Last week we both went to the groomer's on the same day and look spiffy now. Although I know Eleni would not be happy with my coiffure it must be said that in this area with the human pets I have it works for all and I find it quite comfortable. Besides it grows back in so quickly. I'm now groomed, bathed and nails trimmed every 2-months and I get a nail trim on the other months. Boy am I pampered! Oooo it makes me so special!

As previously stated I can be seen from time to time on DD&H Services office webcam and I love it if you  [Send Blue Fan Mail].  Bye for now - happy tail wagging all.

Jan 13, 2007 -  Howdy everyone - it's a dark grey day that looks like more snow. John is groaning - I'm excited! and Payton well its Payton what can you say? One minute he's at our door being respective the next minute he's crapping in the house yet again. Mistress E is so frustrated by this. It seems no matter how often we take him out he'd crap on our porch (poop-sicles) or in the hall by our front door and then act all innocent.

John asked him every time he came to our door while Mistress E was out if he'd like to go out. Not just verbally but held the door open to him and not once did that lil Monster Payton budge towards the door.

I had Blue to our vet yesterday for his annual check up. Blue had gained 1/10th of a pound since last weight in (yr ago) so that's all good, he got his parvo / distemper vaccination and he's not due for his rabies until 2008. The leg that was broken in 2006 was checked again and all is well with Blue.  Good news indeed. Psst! I can be seen from time to time on DD&H Services office webcam and I love it if you  [Send Blue Fan Mail].  Bye for now - happy tail wagging all.

Jan 10, 2007 -  Arooooooo! We woke up to 3" of fresh white snow on the ground. I love to frolic in the snow but my new house mate Payton is a stick in the mud ...
Would Payton play with me? Of course not! Sheesh what use are you to me Payton!  Payton is the second rescue dog this household has adopted from Fur Baby Rescue and was a Christmas present from my John and Mistress R to Mistress E.  All he seems to want to do so far is sleep, eat and dirty the house despite being put out in our yard 4 or more times per day.  John took these pictures as he was finally able to get his pocket digital camera working today ...

John also got a new picture of me today in my bed under his peripheral stand and  immediately adjacent
to his workstation ...

I've been asking John to post larger pictures and he has as of today. If you like / dislike them please  [Send Blue Fan Mail] so we can register your likes.

We're both getting pruned on Jan 16th. John wants me done principally so they can see my eyes / see what mischief I might be up to <he he>.

Happy tail wagging to all my four legged friends and my to my 2-legged friends thank you for adopting, loving us and including us as full participating members of your family! Bawoof, Woof, Woof until we meet again.

Jan 9, 2007 -  Bow, Wow, Woof!  I got fan mail, I got fan mail and dog gone it was a good one. My master John got to learn a bit more about me. Actually Mistress E upon reading the fan mail said she really could not believe Blue would play with little girls.  In this life I'm an effective door bell except for one thing none of the humans here have found out how to make be quiet <large grin>.  John does not have any recent photographs of me but he came across this short video clip in which I was eating my kibble. We stopped by our veterinary this AM and picked up my food - also made an appointment for my annual exam and some shots that are due on Jan 12th. The weather is turning nasty here right now. It was a grey day this AM but 80 Kmph (50 mph) winds are due here this afternoon accompanied by heavy rain and tomorrow AM they are predicting snow <Ugh!> And I think John said we're going grocery shopping this afternoon <Double Ugh!> [Send Blue Fan Mail]

Jan 6, 2007 - Happy and Safe tail wagging New Years to all my four legged friends! Not much to End of December 2006 outside Blue's window!report from here except that Payton, Mistress E's new Shih-Tzu, is driving Mistress E nuts. Not sure what his problems all are but sometimes he gets it correct and asks to go out. Most times he just finds a quiet place in the house to leave a package. It's discomforting you know. He's been her, I think, three weeks now and by now I would have thought he'd have the new house all sorted out.

Anyway life continues for Master John and I. We go walking nearly every day which I love and each time we try to go a little bit further. Except of course yesterday when it was raining like a monsoon here.  I wanted to get home as fast as I could and voluntarily cut my walk short. Holy wet fur!  I was soaked to the skin everywhere I bet in the first 50 feet. Master John gave me a vigorous towel dry as soon as he got his coat of - my he is good to me.  Speaking of being good to me he's going to get my dinner ready for me now and I think I'll get the last of the turkey in it as a treat. Dog howdy do I ever love turkey! Licking my mosh all around in anticipation.

I haven't had any fan mail in a while [Send Blue Fan Mail]
